A little Humor...

Since I am not updated to Blogger Pro and I can't post images (maybe Santa will help me with that) I can't publish this cartoon for you to see, but I suggest you click the link and see it. A little "dubya economy" humor for you!
Update...

Today is still going better, but now I am trying to wipe tears out of my eyes and keep my makeup intact, because my husband posted the most beautiful post in the world about me this morning.....so now I'm all sappy, but it's a good thing. He is an incredible man.
Pledge

Yesterday. Not a good day. Therefore...

I pledge to myself, and the blogosphere, to take three deep breaths, and face today with renewed passion! Today will be better because I will make it better. And you are all more than welcome to come along for the ride! Hold on!

Side note...The fact that I am eating chips and salsa with Spicy Lime and Garlic Salsa at 9:15am has to be a divine sign that today is going to be better!!!

URGH!!!

There is a reason why I am NOT a Travel Agent for a living. If I ever wondered if I should be in that line of work, I now have the ulcer to prove that I shouldn't.

If we ever make it to the Orange Bowl it will be a miracle.

Google!!!

Once in a while it is fun to go through my site meter and see what Google and Yahoo searches are landing folks on my site (now that I post these I'm sure I'll get more hits for them)...some of these make sense because they are things that I have blogged about, but others are hysterical and I have no idea how the search engine found my blog....

The following searches have landed people on my blog in the last week (I cut and pasted these right from the search, so they appear they way the searcher typed them):

underage drinking campaigns columbus ohio
"tyra banks in a thong"
"Lizzie Grubman" temper
"Today's Superstar" NBC
Martha+Stewart+Candy+Coal

Anyone else getting bizarre search engine referrals?
Under Seige!!!!

It is my belief that the medical clinic I work in is under enemy attack....it is my belief that

Someone is pumping STUPID GAS through our ventilation system. Even the remotely intelligent employees that we employ are acting like complete morons. I presume that it's only a matter of time before it attacks me as well.
Man survives on Condiments

I fear this post my taint the image that some of you have of me…but, I’m all about baring everything to the blogging world…so here we go!

Every winter you hear survival stories like this one that I have seen, on every major news outlet today, about the West Virginia man who survived in his crashed car for six days during a winter storm Apparently his car ran off the road, fell 150 feet into a ravine and hit a tree that destroyed the headlights and horn. The 32-year old man broke his hip in the crash so he could not get out of the car to go for help. He survived by eating Taco Bell sauce packets, melting snow to drink and tearing the cloth off the ceiling of the car for a blanket.

This story made me think about what would happen to me if I were forced into such a situation. I have surmised that I would be in a pretty good spot, relatively speaking, if my car ever runs off the road and I have to survive for days on end. Just now when I ran errands at lunch, I took stock of what is in my car. Just in one glance I saw three boxes of cereal that I bought to make holiday treats a few weeks ago but have not taken in the house yet, three granola bars that I always intend to eat on my way to work in the morning, a half sleeve of crackers and a Tupperware container with left over Tuna Casserole in it that I had for lunch yesterday. There were three bottles of water, two novels and a trivia book, some silk flowers, a telephone and some empty plastic grocery bags. Now....hearing all of this you might picture my car as a trash heap on wheels. It's not exactly, however my back seat does collect random clutter...I thought it was because I was lazy and didn't want to take it inside with me when I get home from work. Alas, I was wrong. All this time I have just been following my girl-scout instincts and preparing my car for the possibility that I could be stranded in a ravine for six days and would need to survive. I would have food to eat, books to keep me entertained, flowers to decorate with and plastic bags to wrap over myself to keep body heat in. While not an ideal situation it would be better than Taco Bell hot sauce (have you ever seen what that stuff does to a tarnished penny???) and melted snow.

So, Jeff you should be glad to know that all of that crap in my car that you had to move to put the groceries in the other night could serve a useful function and save my life someday!
Bowlin' in Miami

Hello bloggers! I hope none of you have been losing sleep worrying about my lack of posts over here. I assure you I am doing just fine, it's just that it's the second week of December and I am slightly buried by the Holidays, planning a bowl trip and it's busy season (flu season) at work, so I have very limited blogging time. But...I'll do my best!

First, as you all know by now, my beloved Hawks are going to the Orange Bowl in Miami, rather than the predicted (TUQ) Rose Bowl. To say the least I am disappointed. In fact, don't laugh, but I had tears in my eyes on Sunday when the announcement was made. However, after a minimal amount of therapy I think I will survive the devastation and make the journey to Miami because I owe this football team my continued support. It's not the team's fault that the BCS and Orange Bowl are money-grubbing-tradition-hating bastards. At the very least I can find comfort in the fact that after we whup USC and Ohio State show Miami what a real football team looks like the Big-10 will have the #1 and #2 teams in the final poll of the year.

Since Sunday, Jeff and I have been entrenched in trying to make our plans to get to the Orange Bowl and I tell ya folks...it's CRAZY! The flights into and out of Miami are way out of our budget. So, we're looking at flying in and out of Orlando. You won't get too many complaints about that since it will allow me to make my 19th trip to Walt Disney World. I can feel my mouse ears growing as we speak. I am such a geek when it comes to Disney....but that's why most of you love me!

Outside of planning for the bowl...I have to say that I LOVE Christmas! This is my favorite time of year. All the husslin' and busslin'...all the shopping...all the baking...well wishing....singing....crafting...reflecting... It's all just wonderful. This Christmas season is going particularly well for me since in a magical way everyone's gifts are just falling into place for me. I walk into stores and the "perfect" presents just appear. Hopefully all of you who are receiving will agree with me, but if you don't that's fine. Either way it's been fun shopping so far! Tonight and tomorrow night the Christmas cards are being addressed and next weekend is the "Great Cookie Baking Weekend" at the Utech house!

Stay tuned. I do have things to talk about that don't involve my recent activities. Hopefully I'll get them posted later today!
